Hullside windows are highly complex since they must follow the shape of the hull and must be formed in such a manner they can be bonded to the landing on the hull. Bonding agents require minimum UV penetration, so usually a painted outer layer is also required, known as a frit.

Acrylico has introduced an acrylic with a special formulation blocking 99% of UV radiation, so the frit no longer need not be on the outer surface which in the past tends to interfere with the cosmetic appeal of the vessel.

This acrylic also has the ability to block up to 45% of IR, (infrared heat waves) thereby greatly assisting yacht air conditioning systems, affording long term fuel savings.
